James David Donahue double majored in English Literature and Theatre with a minor in Film Studies at Eastern Connecticut State University. He graduated in 2023 and is currently finishing a second degree in Philosophy with plans to begin graduate study in the Fall of 2024.
James is a writer and filmmaker who enjoys inspiring collectives of creative individuals in producing cross-media works. His expertise is Editorial and Directorial, both Content and Management. He has held internships as an undergraduate that exposed him to marketing, non-profit service, and digital/print publishing.
As a scholar belonging to two national honor societies, James has specialized in the literary and cinematic forms of Modernism and Post-Modernism, Theatrical Adaptation studies as well as the philosophical thought of ancient Buddhism and Greek Skeptics. His work often examines classical revival in contemporary art/media, and his undergraduate thesis was an experimental novel in the style of the early modernists.
James is always interested in the intersection of the Arts, Public Policy, and Higher Education.
With experience as an undergraduate teaching assistant and student teaching K-12, James is drawn to educating. He is also interested and open to work in adjacent fields that support this cause including but not limited to, museum curation, independent film production/distribution companies, traditional literary presses, artist/talent representation, and print journalism.
Creating alone is not enough. James hopes to influence the institutions that interact with the Humanities through a diversified career.
